(Northern Range, Trinidad)
Best time for this hike: January - December
This hike is rated (5) moderately challenging due to the length of the walk to the waterfall and the bits of uphill, though not steep but constant.
Clean, clear trail throughout the walk from Rincon Village to a secluded pool half way to Habio/Rincon Waterfall called “Black pool”. Ideal place for a quick swim or that bit of rest.
Great natural forestry all around you throughout the hike. Very important to have an experienced hike leader with you as there are side trails that can lead you further into the forest instead of the waterfall.
Very steep and badly eroded trail at the end that signifies that you are just a stone throw from the waterfall.
A great pool with both shallow and deep ends ideal for the swimmer and non-swimmer. The second tallest waterfall in Trinidad and Tobago.
Life jackets will be provided upon request. Ropes and other safety devices will also be on hand.
