FROM SPRING BRIDGE & RIVER EXPLORATION VIA 3 POOLS
An hour hike through virgin forest with a great trail through-out. The first part of the hike is a steady uphill climb where your fitness will be tested. Once on top, flat terrain until we start heading all the way downhill mixed with
bits of flat walking until we eventually reach to the Marianne River. Grand Fond Waterfall is then within reach.
Beautiful natural waterfall with a great pool to swim
to your leisure, though one must be careful when swimming at the sides of this pool as it is extremely rocky there and so, it is strongly advised that you have on your shoes when venturing at the sides.
Departing the waterfall, we then head downstream Marianne River where it is rocky throughout coupled with beautiful pools and small gorges to swim through. Beautiful vistas also throughout the river trek.
We eventually reach to the popular “3 Pools” which is the signal that we are not far from the starting point. From 3 Pools, we are just
12 minutes away from the Spring Bridge.
The rating for this hike is (5) moderately challenging.
GRAND FOND WATERFALL FROM AVOCAR VILLAGE
This hike is perfect for the folks desirous in doing an easy walk instead and kids.
Here, we drive into a small village deep in the mountains where after parking our vehicles, we take a short walk along a dirt road that will eventually lead us into the forest. A short uphill trek along a narrow trail until we reach to the summit. From there,
we head on downhill along a prominent trail and now under great shade throughout until we reach to a number of small stream crossings until we are eventually alongside Marianne River. The waterfall is now just a minute away.

Departing from the waterfall, instead of going how we came, we take the Marianne River trek back upstream until
we come to the end of the dirt road. When we reach there, we trek along this road until we eventually reach back to the parked vehicles.
